What do I think makes a kickass project?

I love to shock and surprise people by being direct when creating works of art. I love to disrupt a space – whether design or video – writing, and leading a team and finding ways to push past barriers to find new solutions and outcomes.

As an artist and storyteller, I love using all mediums to create a unique and engaging voice. My experience in graphic design, video and motion graphics has given me a unique opportunity to be able to problem solve, conceptualize ideas, and storyboard, script, copyright for the different channels – while keeping a consistent and dynamic look, feel and tone.  

Crafting the experience

I enjoy each step of creating a project – conceptualizing, photography and video, writing and messaging, composing the objects on a page and the end result – interaction with the piece. 

This framework outlines my process for developing experiences:

1. Research and gather the present state

2. Structure setup and content of the project

3. Concept and strategy

4. Create, evaluate and iterate deliverables like: Print, Video and Social

Communicating the conceptual approach/strategy and reason behind it, is present during the whole process.

Somewhere between a camera lens and combat boots, design and communication became my life. A 10-year Army veteran, my career consisted of being a photographer, writer, editor and designer.

Through experiences in life and in design my eye for detail and composition has afforded me the opportunity to see all sides of a situation and think on my feet while bringing a unique perspective to design.

I like to think of myself as a creative, free thinking, quirky – the coolest person I know. I have a defined sense of humor, adventure, conceptual design and believe in the saying work hard, play hard.

I am passionate about creative expression - whether design, video or animation because it gives me the opportunity to communicate awareness through visual impact. As creatives, it is our social and moral responsibility to solve problems through an innovative approach.
